Youth for Farming

The Importance of food in our lives cannot be overlooked, it’s the nourishment for our bodies and lives. This year as the world celebrates International Youth Day 2021 under the theme Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health.

The Nkuze Youth Foundation is joining in the celebrations to celebrate young farmers in Kayabwe town who are contributing to food production through farming. The young farmers will be celebrated in a campaign dubbed “Youth for Farming.” The campaign aims to facilitate agriculture growth among youth by providing platforms for young farmers to be mentored and empowered.

The campaign will start in Kayabwe with 100 young farmers in the region, these farmers will receive hands-on training and mentorships in farming that will run for a period of six months in the year 2022.

The campaign is running in celebration of the 2021 International Youth Day theme of transforming food systems.

The International youth day is celebrated on the 12th of August annually across the globe and is used to celebrate youth voices, actions and initiatives as well as highlight the factors affecting youth engagements and contributions to global developments.
