Namuwawu Resty finished her form four exams in 2019, but the country went into a COVID-19 lockdown before receiving results. Unable to continue her education, she became a teenage mother. During this challenging time, the Nkuze Youth Foundation held a study seminar at the Village Center, selecting Namuwawu as a candidate for future support.
Expressing her interest in fashion and design, Namuwawu requested assistance in pursuing a certificate in the field. With the foundation’s help, she joined Lukaya Polytechnic Institute in January 2022, completing a two-year certificate in fashion and design.
With her newfound skills, Namuwawu plans to open her tailoring shop in the village center, offering diverse designs and clothing. She also aims to teach other young girls interested in studying tailoring, turning her setbacks into a journey of determination and success.
